Cairo based independent record label SLOVVDK will be having another showcase at CJC on Tuesday July 2nd after their successful launch party last April. The showcase will include performances by Dirty Backseat along with fresh talents Zeyada and Felukah.
Zeyada aka Rola Zyada is an Egyptian indie musician and visual artist living and working between New York and Cairo. She released her latest single and music video “Beit” in late 2018 and is currently preparing the release of her debut cross-genre EP, featuring songs in English and Arabic, to be released by SLOVVDK.
Born and raised in Cairo before moving to New York for college, Felukah entered the music scene in 2018 after first publishing two collections of poetry. She released her first mixtape “Battery Acid” on Soundcloud and released her debut EP “Yansoon” on all streaming platforms within the same 6 months. Recently dubbed by Scene Noise as “The Neo Soul Artist Bringing the Nile to New York,” Felukah’s verse switches between English and Arabic with ease. Her upcoming album “Citadel” features other Middle Eastern artists and drops on all music platforms on July 5th.
About Dirty Backseat:
Previously a duo, now a solo project consisting of the Egyptian Producer/Songwriter Moe Hani who’s also the co-founder of the Egyptian loose collective “SLOVVDK”. Throughout the project’s existence Dirty Backseat has been releasing music online since 2017 inspired by various styles, from Garage rock & post-punk to Synth-wave, Synth-Punk & Electronica. Recently in 2019, DB has released two Double singles & a music video which got featured on various online international blogs & magazines.Currently Moe is preparing for releasing new music in the forms of singles & another EP which will be released by SLOVVDK this summer.
